What a year it’s been for cryptocurrencies! Following the SNAFU that was GME vs Melvin Capital, many retail investors flocked to crypto as a way to invest in the next big thing and take their money TO THE MOON. Since January, most coins saw large and steady increases until a recent correction brought them back down.
In this Power BI competition, you are provided with a database with two simple tables. One table contains all historical crypto price data BY THE MINUTE for 57 different coins. The second table has the same information but instead of by the minute, the values are by the hour. This makes the table significantly smaller and easier to work with. If you want a challenge, consider using the Minute table!
The data is pretty expansive given that there is price data for each minute of the coins’ history, but the dataset is limited in categorical features. Feel free to bring your own dataset to enrich the strictly numerical data.

- Contest runs from Monday June 7th, 2021 (6/7/2021) 12pm EST through Monday June 14th, 2021 (6/14/2021) 12pm EST.
- Build a Power BI report based on the provided dataset. The report can be as simple or complex as you’d like to make it! Entries from all skill levels are welcome.
- When complete, send the .PBIX file to contests@bielite.com.
- All entries will be judged on the following criteria, and winners will be announced Friday, June 18th (6/18/2021).
