Winning Report #1

by Tim Gitsels

Thoughts from the BI Elite team:

Masterpiece. Potentially my favorite PBI report design I've ever seen. I need to dig in to see how you added the hover effect to open the letter! Both the front and back side of the letter are so creative. I'm also a big fan of the font choice.

As for the content of the report, there could be more insights presented to the user, but this report seems to be minimalist by design. It provides you with metrics around email list growth over time, campaign performance over time, and open rates vs click rates. As you hover over the combo chart across the bottom, a report-page tooltip pops up providing easy-to-understand feedback about the particular campaign compared to the user's average campaign. This is a very nice touch to allow the user to dig a bit deeper.

Overall, very well done, Tim! Kudos to you for the AMAZING design work on this report.

Winning Report #2

by Hachi Adachi

Thoughts from the BI Elite team:

Hachi, you did it again! This report has such a similar feel to your last winning report, but this one is a bit more in-depth and offers a great navigation experience. It feels as if you are flipping through the pages of a pop-up book.

One thing that I absolutely love is the way you define metrics while providing a color coding, all at the same time. Masterful! All of the visuals that depict a certain metric vs word count were very enlightening and make me consider writing shorter subjects and email bodies (thank you for that!).

Similarly, it's great to see that GIFs truly do affect the click rate of an email. I figured as much, but it's really nice to put some numbers to the idea. I'm not sure if you have interacted with email marketing data before, but you were able to unearth some fantastic insights from this dataset. That plus the top-notch design make this a winning report for sure. Awesome job, Hachi!

Winning Report #3

by Maria Katsanou

Thoughts from the BI Elite team:

I love reading this report. It has such a clean and simple design that works very well. My favorite aspect is the decomposition tree that provides an easy-to-understand breakdown of sends/delivers/opens/clicks. The thick border is a great touch here!

The YTD Subscribers visual is extremely useful to myself as the data owner. The % Diff calculation provides information that I did not possess before. On the same note, I didn't previously have any information around the percent of people that opened an email or clicked a link more than once. Very nice measure to perform this calculation! The Opened Emails by Time visual is very informative as well. This is definitely a winner.

Great job Maria! This is a perfect, medium-sized report that effectively analyzes Mailchimp data.
